Synopsis

In the early 30s of the 20th century, the mother of two small children, Hadisha, sets out for her husband, who was sent to Siberia on false charges. In her journey across the country, a woman experiences inhuman difficulties and trials, meeting on the way the same destitute people fighting for their lives in the endless Kazakh steppes.

Director's Biography

ARDAK AMIRKULOV

Ardak Amirkulov studied philology at the University of Alma Ata, where he graduated in 1977. Since 1988, he has directed and produced several feature films. From 1992 to 2002, Amirkulov served as the general director of Kazakhstan’s leading film studio, “Kazakhfilm.” In 1996, he became a professor in film theory at the Kazakh National Academy of Arts
