KAADU is a poignant tale of a tribal apothecary, Chaman, whose life is inseparable from the forest he inhabits. Living with his grandson Thaman, Chaman passes on ancestral wisdom, stories of coexistence, and the duty to protect nature. As climate threats and a government rehabilitation policy force villagers to leave, Chaman faces a final moral choice when a bird nests atop his relocation documents. Choosing the forest and its fragile life over displacement, Chaman walks back into the wilderness, affirming that the soil and its people are one.
